Is real time indexing finally here?

Everytime I purchase a newer computer I think I am getting one-step closer to no-wait, real time computing. I remember when I upgraded from an xt to the newest processor, the 386. I opened one of my favorite games called asteroids and watched all of the avatars go flying by at breakneck speed.

Well, we are witnessing the same revolution in indexing technology. Last year, we saw the appearance of PubSubHubbub, a simple publish/subscribe protocol for Atom and RSS. PubSubHubBub, or PuSH,  provides real-time notifications to subscribers of content when there is new content or updates being made.
